Match Report from Robert Dunlop (Parent)
11 players turned up to this event.
Best wishes to event 4 runner up Rhys Clark who unfortunatly broke his arm recently and could not attend.
Ross Muir, Greg Ritchie and Dylan Craig all got a Bye in the 1st round. Young Anthony Nardone dug deep to beat Joanne Baillie after fluking pink in frame one to take the lead. Lee Mein beat Thomas McLeod, Declan Lilley beat Killmarnock's Tony McNally and Campbell Dunlop beat Aaron Cameron.
In to the quarters - Campbell beat Declan, Ross beat Anthony and old rivals Lee and Greg had a tough battle on table 13 with Greg ending up the victor.
In the semis Dylan met tough opponent Campbell and struggled to find the needed form to beat the No1.
Greg and Ross battled it out in the other half of the draw. Ross couldn't find his full potential today and Greg took full advantage to earn himself another crack at Campbell in a final.
The final saw Campbell dominate from the start as Greg seemed to have used up all of his fuel in the earlier rounds. Young Campbell went on to win by 3 frames to nil and complete the day by not dropping a frame.
All of the kids were a credit to the game as normal.
Many thanks to our U14 Sub Committee of Referee's Mr Alec Cameron and Mr William Craig, who were once again turned out to perfection in their SRG Uniform and Blazers.
Big thanks also to George and the staff for thier hospitality including the kitchen staff for taking my advice on how to make microwaved scrambled egg:)
