Match Report from Robert Dunlop (Parent)
11 players turned up to this event.

Best wishes to event 4 runner up Rhys Clark who unfortunatly broke his arm recently and could not attend.

Ross Muir, Greg Ritchie and Dylan Craig all got a Bye in the 1st round. Young Anthony Nardone dug deep to beat Joanne Baillie after fluking pink in frame one to take the lead. Lee Mein beat Thomas McLeod, Declan Lilley beat Killmarnock's Tony McNally and Campbell Dunlop beat Aaron Cameron.

In to the quarters - Campbell beat Declan, Ross beat Anthony and old rivals Lee and Greg had a tough battle on table 13 with Greg ending up the victor.

In the semis Dylan met tough opponent Campbell and struggled to find the needed form to beat the No1.
Greg and Ross battled it out in the other half of the draw. Ross couldn't find his full potential today and Greg took full advantage to earn himself another crack at Campbell in a final.

The final saw Campbell dominate from the start as Greg seemed to have used up all of his fuel in the earlier rounds. Young Campbell went on to win by 3 frames to nil and complete the day by not dropping a frame.

All of the kids were a credit to the game as normal.
Many thanks to our U14 Sub Committee of Referee's Mr Alec Cameron and Mr William Craig, who were once again turned out to perfection in their SRG Uniform and Blazers.

Big thanks also to George and the staff for thier hospitality including the kitchen staff for taking my advice on how to make microwaved scrambled egg:)

Very well done Campbell and Greg from both myself, Aaron and his mum.

Big thanks to folks who were on hand to help out and encourage - means a lot to myself and Wullie and I know the players definately benefit from and appreciate that.

Hope Rhys gets on the mend real soon - he is certainly a player to watch out for and a gentleman with it!! GET WELL RHYS.

Thanks to Robert for sprending the time on the days report, nice one Robert and also to Wullie for the efforts not only on the day but in connection with the fabulous posters he has been involved with.

One last, and very important thing, to mention. Whilst myself and Wullie attended the Referees Group meeting on Sunday, it was noted by a most senior member and echoed around the whole room (filled with some very senior members) that the conduct and general atmosphere with the U/14's was second to none and a real model for all other snooker groups to look to. This means a very great deal for me personally to hear others talk without being asked to, about our group of players in this way, who are a real credit to their parents and guardians.

My very best wishes to you all for 2008.

Alec

I would never tell any woman how to improve her cooking, let alone your Mum!

Good Luck to Robert! :p

Big well done to Campbell on winning this event. Unlucky Greg , done well in getting to another final. Also like to say well done to Alec Cameron on superb organisational skills at these tournaments. Thanks to the parents who come along to show their support and especially to Robert Dunlop again for writing the match report.(Didn't want to tell you this, but after 3 reports that makes you official match reporter , look out Kate Adie ! ha.)

I would like to second what Alec said on the comments that were made at the SRG meeting, I know I personally (and am sure Alec was) very very proud to hear the comments that were made regarding the conduct and professionalism of ALL the under 14's. I will repeat what I've said before, I would take these youngsters anywhere in the world to represent Scottish Snooker as they would not only be a real credit to the game but also to our country.

p.s. Can you scramble Eggs??

Next U14 Event is on Sunday 3rd Feb at The Premier in Falkirk.

All you need to do is send in a membership form (downloadable from home page or send me his address and I'll post one out) with his £10 membership Fee and I'll add him to the Entry list.

You can look the event up on this section under "U14 Ranking Event 6".

Cheers Robert
Thank You for pointing another young kid towards his NGB Association.
Hope he does well and enjoys it.

PS You'll need to get your finger out for Top 64 event 6 and fend off some of the chasing pack who want your No.1 position.
looks like being another interesting finale to the season for the WSA Main Tour place.
Good Luck to all.
