Gotta say well done to the board for it all!! All Looks for a fantastic season!!
i seen on the newsletter that scottish snooker receive 5% from mark boyle and 1% from robert stephen earnings from the tour this year can i ask why there is a 4% difference? Think it is great that both players have agreed to give a percentage

Yes, I received mine this morning, it looks terrific. One thing, why is it an Under 19 age group instead of and Under 21?

Cool, but in the tournament structure sheet it says entry to the 19's is £10 and in the calendar it says it's £12:50, maybe I've read it wrong, what is it?

Chris, Mark has offered to donate 5% of any winnings instead of the obligatory 1%.

Ants: Sorry for the typing mistakes, thats my fault (and the rest of the board for not spotting it)
To Clarify U19's will be £12.50 per event next season.

Mark Boyle: Mark himself offered to up his 1% of WSA earning to 5%, he thought it would maybe help Scottish Snooker and show the way forward for the pro's who rise from Scottish Snooker to remember where they came from and to the organisation that provide the platform for anyone to make the step up to the professional game.

Another mistake big Frazer (Patrick) spotted, and called me to let us know. Was that for the Top 64 prepayments there is two dates for payment cut offs.
So to clarify that one The Top 64's $147 and membership MUST BE with Scottish Snooker by Friday 25th August 06. Any Top 64 player not paid and received by that date will have his place offered to the next player on the list from last years rankings.

Oh and for anyone who is complaining that it is two short of notice for the top 64 prepayment........... When did you think it was gonna start? Duh!!

As was said in the members letter, please try .........everyone to encourage at least one person you know to come along and play within Scottish Snooker.
I really do feel we have the structure in place now to accomodate the growth and resurgence of Snooker once again in Scotland. All we need is the player base to grow even more from where it is now at.

All the best to everyone for the new season.

That's fine, typing mistakes in that amount of paperwork can only be expected.

You know you're saying top 64 prepay, well on the sheets it says top 60 and 4 semi finalists from the Challenger tour make the top 64 for each event, so if the top 60 are guaranteed a place in the Main tour tournaments then why have the other 4 (61-64) to prepay if they have to play on the Challenger tour?
And well done on the 9 venues!
Thanks for that Embassy DVD, that was nice

Baillie, Stevie

Only the top 60 prepay mate, and the other 4 for each event come from the chalenger tour.
Challenger Tour players do not need to prepay, they can just pay on the day.
We got the DVD's from World Snooker, so my girlfriend just popped them into any envelope, as we did'nt have enough to go around then you are one of the lucky ones to have got one. Some wont, but I needed to get rid of the big box as I'm doing up my bedroom and needed the room!

PS Just got your Entry Fee's and tell your Mum & Dad "a mega big thanks" for the £200 towards the U14 National Trophy. Most appreciated by everyone.

OK and well done again, it sounds like a great season ahead. SSL is the best run amateur organisation that I know of at the moment, because it is run very well and has a solid stucture in place. Well done you and the board :)

And something else I was wondering. If there are 4 Challengers in each Main event does that mean that their name will be in both Challenger and Main ranking lists?
Also if you drop off the Main tour but qualify to get back on through the Under 16 or something, will you be allowed back on because you had already dropped off?

Steve,
I was wondering if I'll be getting my membership pack in February next year because I joined in February this year and my pack is yet to come in the post
Michael Townsley has told me though that it is well worth waiting for

Baillie, Stevie

Gerald, send me your name and address in a private PM and I will just write another one out and get it off to you.
Better safe than sorry

That goes for any other member or non-member who has not yet received their membership pack. I have loads of them here, so just PM or send your address through the contact us button on the home page.
That way it wont be on public display!

Of course the names will appear on both divisions, and remember it wont (probably) be the same names each event.

If a player drops off the Top 64 but qualifies to come up through another category, then again.......of course he will take up his place through that particular Division he has come from.

Hope that clarify's for you.

Ants............It all works mostly on common sense and fairness to all.

Am over in Cali just now and the web service is mince. (So much for Silicone Valley - I always thought that referred to Jordan!)
Limited time on here mate.
But thanks for pointing that out, al stop heckling young Geraldo now.

Weather is mega over here mate.
Men's team need to win their last two matches to qualify in their group.
The over 40's is a joke, we can't get knocked out til it goes to the knockout stage which is next wednesday. Difficult to take the games seriously.
Format is poor too, best of nine matches played on one table! Most games are 5 hours!
Still, should get better once we get down to the knockout stages.

Day off tomorrow, so going to San Francisco to see the sights and Alcatraz.
Jings....it's a tough old life !

See ya soon mate.

Ross, you'll find all the info on globalsnookercentre.co.uk and on the Pontin's pages. I think you need to download some forms with the info on them.

Draws for all 8 events in the "Top 64" section should be made next week at the latest. I am just back from California, so will be opening all the mail and compiling the entries and banking the cheques. If we get all the 60 entries in then we can do all 8 event draws for the "Top 64" section at the AGM/Scottish Pairs day this Sunday (3rd Sept) and anyone can help make and witness the draws whilst the Pairs are being played.

Hi Steve,

Does the pairs championship on Sunday cost £10 per head on the day?

Or does the £147 fee cover the entry for this tourney.

Only reason i ask is, because when i clicked on the calender on the third of september it said "entry fee £10".

The £147 does not cover the pairs championship on Sunday.
Entry is £10 per player (every player!)
See you there.
